I just installed these swags, panels and sheers in a client's living room. The Kingston valances are a very traditional, and formal style. The fabric was a beautiful choice, and looks great in this style. The client is thrilled!!

Black and Tan

This kitchen makeover features beautiful black and tan block plaid fabric. Mounting the treatment on finials is a pretty change from a straight mount.

We chose a London shade for over the sink. It's hard to see in the photos, but there is a black contrast fabric with tan dots in the pleats. The fabric complements the tile, granite and cabinets beautifully.

This dining room has a sophisticated country feel to it. The soft floral fabric and casual swag design soften up the angular window.

And now, the computer rendering that I did to show the client how the finished product would look. The client wasn't sure about this fabric, but when she could see how the finished product would look (on her own window), she was sold. She is thrilled with the results.

This fabric is a beautiful combination of casual and formal. The check is a bit casual, while the embroidered leaves dress it up.

In this case, the client wasn't sure if the black floral fabric was going to be too overpowering on the windows. Seeing the renderings allowed her to feel confident that she was making the right choice. The end result is stunning!

Contemporary Cornice

I recently designed these cornices for a client. She has excellent taste, and the room looked great already. She had seen some cornices in a model home and asked me to design something similar to add the finishing touch to her family/game room. (There is a shuffleboard table in the family room - I love that!) I enjoyed working with the client, and tweaking the design until we got it just right. I found the wrought iron medallion in a drapery hardware catalog, and had the fabricator customize it so that it could be mounted to the cornice.

To me, that is part of the beauty of upholstered cornices, they really allow for creativity and customization.

Notice that we kept the design on the fireside windows simpler. It is not necessary to do exactly the same thing on every window in a room.

Bucks County Designer House and Gardens

I was honored to participate in this years Bucks County Designer House. I worked along with my friends, Jayne Rosen of JR Design Coordinates, and Sally Dunn and Noreen Dunn Gottfried of Dunn Design Partners, to decorate "the gathering room". The house is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are amazing.

The gathering room is a large addition to the original stone farmhouse. It has a spectacular wall of windows overlooking the grounds and pond. We chose a large scale floral fabric from Thibaut for the draperies in order to echo the beautiful view outside. The spiced pumpkin walls provide a warm contrast to all of the green outside, The greens, golds, yellows and rusts in the fabrics reflect the colors in the gardens. The tailored, box pleated panels, and coordinating roman shades, harmonize well with the clean architectural of the room.

Our design strategy was to create a room that would function well for today's more casual lifestyle. The room has a cozy seating area for conversation or television viewing. On the other side of the room, a large round table serves as a game table, or as a spot for casual dining. A custom wall unit, built by the artisans at Superior Woodcraft, houses a microwave, beverage coolers, and cabinets for serving pieces.

The Gathering Room is a fun and functional space where the whole family can truly live.
